Children’s Book Festival continues…

Penelope Moorhead is in the middle of  a whistle-stop tour of Meath libraries this week bringing drama to our libraries in Duleek,Dunboyne, Slane, Trim and Oldcastle.

Penelope is a Speech, Drama and Communication teacher.  She also travels throughout Ireland as an examiner and adjudicator in Speech and Drama. Her workshops will offer an encouraging, fun and inclusive approach to drama aiming to engage all the children in the drama activities, the themed work and in the subsequent presentation and/or discussion.

Later on this week, poet and librarian extraordinaire, Tom French will be visiting Duleek and Dunshaughlin libraries to facilitate poetry workshops

Tom has published two poetry collections with The Gallery Press.  He also works in the library service in our local studies department.  In these writing workshops, the children will discuss some famous poems which they can then use as a springboard for their own ideas and begin writing their own poetry.
